Danish CSD pioneers ISO 20022 training with Swift
Taking a collaborative approach, Swift Training Services worked in tandem with the Danish central securities depository (CSD) VP SECURITIES to deliver an ISO 20022 training programme to securities players in Denmark.
VP SECURITIES promoted the courses alongside Swift and hosted two sessions in the first instance. The sessions were fully booked so quickly that a third was organised a month later to satisfy demand in the community.
The course included:
- An overview of ISO 20022 principles and features.
- A description of participants and roles in the investment funds business.
- An introduction to funds order-related messages.
- An introduction to T2S.
- Business processes performed by the platform.
“We gathered feedback from participants after the sessions, and their reactions were very positive overall,” says Niels Hougaard, VP SECURITIES. “They found the course informative, and they were happy to have had the opportunity to be introduced to ISO 20022, funds processing and the fundamentals of T2S.”
Lebanon’s IBL Bank validates Alliance Access skills with Swift certification
Johnny S. El Hadchity, IT System Administrator at IBL Bank s.a.l Lebanon, has recently become the first in this country to be awarded the Alliance Access Administrator certification.
Given the opportunity to attend the Swift Training on Managing Swift Alliance Access in Dubai, Hadchity says he was particularly interested in the course content because it covered administration as well as technical elements.
Furthermore, the highly experienced instructor was able to communicate information in an understandable way, regardless of prior knowledge levels. Meanwhile, the examination to secure the certification was “not only a measure of skills, but a comprehensive standard for skills, combining information about skill proficiency and skill use.”

Société Générale benefits from tailored Swift Training services
Like many large financial institutions, Société Générale is increasingly looking for training courses that can be built around the varied needs of its global workforce. The bank therefore approached Swift to tailor a bespoke onsite training course for staff with a basic knowledge of international payments.
Swift Training Services created a course that combines the ‘Introduction to Swift’ with one of Swift’s best-selling payments courses, ‘Payments & Cash Management – using FIN messages’. The resulting course gives Société Générale employees a good understanding of topics including customer credit transfers and related messages, financial institution transfers, reconciliation and referencing and straight through-processing.
When we asked Swift to create this course, we had very clear objectives about what we wanted to achieve. The customised course has consistently met these objectives.
