London, 28 November 2012 - Swift, the financial messaging provider for more than 10,000 financial institutions and corporations in 212 countries, announced today that Societe Generale has committed to migrating its UK corporate customer base to 3SKey, Swift's digital identity solution.

Digital technology now promises full automation for FX transaction processing, but the power of AI and machine learning is yet to be felt because FX datasets are not available in standardised, machine-readable formats.

The rapid growth of digital payments around the world, in part driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, has created a lasting change in the way that we do business, from central bank to commercial, corporate treasurer and beyond. The concept of a new, universal shared ledger for digital payments and assets is gaining interest as a way of transforming how transactions are recorded and settled. New York, April 24, 2013 - GE has been selected as the 2013 recipient of NACHA's PayItGreen Award for the positive environmental impact it has fostered by digitizing banking payments, statements and bills. GE and Swift collaborated to streamline treasury and banking operations utilizing Swift's eStatements utility to reduce GE's carbon footprint and realize significant costs savings.

The FX voice trader has not yet disappeared, and electronic trading has added to price transparency without necessarily boosting liquidity, which is fragmented across specialist platforms. But the number and market share of electronic trading platforms in all FX instruments is set to increase, and FX trading may one day be traded as just another financial asset class across a network of digital trading systems.
