As outlined in article 7 of the Swift By-laws, the name, identity details and number of shares of each shareholder of the company are entered in the company’s share register. The share register is kept electronically at the company’s registered office. An excerpt of the share register qualifies as a certificate of shareholding. The excerpt can be downloaded through the Shareholding Tool or can be requested by email to shareholding@swift.com.

Swift eases trade reporting for EMIR compliance

Brussels, 14 January 2014 - Following the European Securities and Markets Authority's (ESMA's) approval of six trade repositories, there is a start-date of 12 February 2014 for derivatives trade reporting under the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR). From 12 February, entities affected by the EMIR reporting obligations will need to report their trades to one of the newly-authorised repositories.
