During a recent roundtable discussion, representatives of Russia’s National Settlement Depository, Swift and the Russian National Swift Association (ROSSwift) explored the opportunities – and the obstacles – on the road to ISO 20022 adoption.

Swift CEO Lázaro Campos told EU Parliamentarians today, "whatever the outcome of the current discussions about the use of data for counter-terrorism purposes, what we must not jeopardize are the protections which exist today for citizens' data, the certainty of the legal framework within which companies operate and the commercial level playing field." Mr Campos was also keen to emphasise that the debate is not about Swift, but about how Europe plans to cooperate with the US for counter…

In order to support these obligations in terms of information transmission, Swift and the Securities Market Practice Group (SMPG) have worked together to provide the industry with various ISO 20022 messaging solutions covering all minimum requirements around IR. The messages are available on the ISO website and on the Swift MyStandards platform.
