We look forward hearing from you!

BIC Directory 2018

Following ISO-approval of the revised BIC-standard, ISO 9362, our legacy SwiftRef BIC Directory will undergo some minor changes.

These changes will be reflected and become available in Q1 2016 in an enhanced edition of the BIC Directory, named BIC Directory 2018.

This new directory will co-exist with the legacy BIC Directory until November 2018, which represents the end of the ISO9362 implementation transition period.

As an existing BIC directory user you will thus have ample time to adapt your back-office systems and integrate the BIC Directory 2018 at your best convenience before November 2018.

BIC Plus

In addition, to take full advantage of the renewed BIC registration procedure are we proposing a more data-rich BIC Plus directory. This new directory will potentially include some or all of the new data provided in the data attributes (data collected at registration of a new BIC) as well as any other data elements that would get strong support from the community.

A piloting exercise to collect input from our community on this potential new directory is currently running with a number of interested financial institutions.

If you and your colleagues are also eager to validate our draft proposals and actively share your ideas on these new versions of the BIC Directory within this piloting exercise, then please contact Anne-Sophie Walravens.

Draft Technical Specifications

Today, draft technical specifications for the SwiftRef BIC Directory 2018 and potential SwiftRef BIC Plus directory are available with our SwiftRef team.

These draft specifications outline the proposed file content changes to the existing SwiftRef BIC Directory.

The final technical specifications, which will reflect also additional ideas and requests confirmed through the piloting exercise and through your spontaneous online feedback, will become available end November 2015.

If you would like to consult the draft technical specifications and provide your feedback via our online feedback form, we invite you to contact our SwiftRef team.

We look forward hearing from you!
