What does the Shared Infrastructure Programme offer?
Looking to tap into Swift? There are a number of ways to connect to the network. As an alternative to doing so directly, users can opt to use indirect or shared connectivity. Choosing to do so through an entity not belonging to users' own corporate group can be done via a service bureau.
Because doing your due diligence when engaging with a service bureau can be complex at the best of times, Swift's Shared Infrastructure Programme (SIP) is here to help by providing a supporting framework.
The SIP lays out eligibility criteria, roles and responsibilities, as well as legal, financial and operational requirements that service bureaux must adhere at all times. Additionally, Swift performs further checks including on-site inspections to further verify compliance.
Swift regularly reviews and adapts the SIP to reflect market and technical developments and the evolving threat landscape.
That said, service bureaux are responsible for their own service provisions and for their continued compliance with the SIP towards Swift.
